Mayan ruins at Chichen-Itza, after the rainstorm which thourghouly soaked me.
They didn't allow tripods to be brought into the ruins (at least not without getting prior consent from some governmental bureau) so I had to shoot almost everything hand-held with my DSLR. I did set up my 4x5 a couple of times on some stones and such things to try and get a couple of shots, but obviously this method really limits your shot selection and angles. This angle here I really wanted to shoot in large format to capture all the detail of those amazing carvings, but there just wasn't anywhere to set up from. So instead I opted to shoot it digitally with a 50mm lens, do four shots and then stitch them together.
The stitching was hard, too. Since I hadn't shot on a tripod the images weren't well aligned and there was a bit of ghosting, and becasue of all the detail it took a long time to eliminate it.
Anyways, I hope you can get at least a little feeling of the majesty and mystery of the place from this.

Very nice photo. I'd love to go there some day. This is actually one of the first b&w shots I've seen of this location.
