Chasing. Something, anything. We should always be doing it so as not to sit still.
This is Grand Haven, Michigan, a place I haven't been to in many years. It's the same place where I took the photo that became The Dying of the Light ( [link] )
I wanted to go back and try and capture the beauty of this place again. No, it wasn't the same. Nothing ever is. The day was cold, the wind was like a whip coming off the lake. The beach was empty and lonely. The sun was setting in a different part of the sky. The feeling was different. But still beautiful.
When the sun hit this position in the sky, I was literally running down the boardwalk to try and get to a good place for the shot. Then I found myself balanced on the wall, precariously leaning over as far as I could for the angle. Yes, another instance of me looking like a freak to the innocent bystanders.
my last silly thing was lying on the ground, on my back, pointing camera at about 45 degrees. Tummy muscles got some exercise. Once i did the 'walk like an egyptian' thing to get a cool shadow, on a busy saturday night in the city. Holding camera and doing 'the walk' was a bit tricky. Gorgeous clouds
Now that's a shot! Love how even the lines in the sky lead toward your focal point here. I can really identify with the title, I've been out of breath when I've taken some of my favorite shots. Great job. Beautiful.
nice distortion on the water!! good position of the camera and nice use of this handrail!!! realy kool that the curve of this cloud is like the curve of this handrail
great shot, and its good to look like a maniac when your trying to take pictures. I do it all the time. People sometimes ask me if I can see it, I always think thats neat. And its good to still be chasing things, means your not done yet. and who actually wants to be done?
Go on chasing, sun, words, clouds, love, ... And go on stopping long enough to capture sun, words, clouds, love. I'll stop chasing long enough to stand here waiting.
